What is Library Lab?
Library Lab present new web tools & development that may help you. Some of the tools are developed by library staff, others are simply tools we found useful.
Search tools
Off campus access - reload page through proxy button
Add a button to your browser that lets you reload a page through the Unversity Library proxy server. Comes in handy when you are off campus and searching Google Scholar or other databases that can provide you with e-JULIA services if you are surfing via the University network.
Library Quick Search Widget Creator
The Library Quick Search Widget Creator lets you create your own quick search widget with a selection of databases that you choose. Include your widget on your webpage through a HTML template or include it in your iGoogle.
JULIA Bookmarklet
A bookmarklet is an easy-to-use (javascript based) bookmark service that allows you to search for marked words or phrases on any website. This bookmarklet helps you search the library catalog JULIA from any webpage with your marked words.
Library toolbar
With the library's toolbar you will have direct access to a selection of library services in the web browser without having to go to the website first.
Other tools
New books - browse & RSS feed
Browse through the latest acquisitions to the library catalog, JULIA. You can browse through a subject list with a 30 day limit, define your own SAB classification and time limit search and subscribe to a SAB subject RSS feed. Feeds are updated daily and alerts you of new books in your field.
Google Scholar Citation Counter
This Google Scholar gadget lets you search for the citation of an author. It provides a total citation count, total number of cited publications and H-Index. Learn more

We strive to develop and enrich our OPAC, JULIA, for the benefit of our users. Following is a listing of some of the changes we have implemented.
Zotero
This Firefox extension help you collect, manage and cite your research sources. It gives you access to your references directly from the browser.

While visiting the unconference Bibcamp 2008 John Blyberg, Library Journal Mover & Shaker 2006, gave a presentation for the staff at Jönköping University Library about the construction of the new public library in Darien, Connecticut.
